Join us for an evening of stargazing!

Librarian John Reid will tell you about the skills and equipment needed to become an amateur astronomer, and how to familiarize yourself with the constellations and types of objects visible through telescopes, such as star clusters, double stars and other phenomena. Weather permitting, John will take patrons outside to view the night sky through the telescope.

Disasters take many forms: floods, storms, heatwaves, earthquakes, and more. When disaster does strike, the best protection is knowing what to do. It is important that everyone understands we all play a role in preparing for disasters.

Learn how to keep your family safe and self-sufficient for 72 hours or more until help arrives. This program is presented by the City of Burnaby’s Emergency Program.
