Teen Summer Reading Club Art Contest

Burnaby Public Library wants to feature your art in our community to promote inclusion.

Summer Reading Club Teen Art Contest

This year we're inviting Burnaby youth to create posters that we can proudly display in our libraries, schools, and local businesses that let people know we’re inclusive.

The winning posters will be displayed at Burnaby Public Libraries and other venues that choose to promote inclusion and acceptance.

You could win gift cards from Spotify, DeSerres Art Supplies, and Indigo books!

What We're Looking For:

  • An eye-catching poster design to promote social justice and inclusion that adheres to the contest rules below.
  • A positive message that lets viewers know that the business they are entering is a safe space for those coping with the consequences of social injustice.
  • From abstract art to realistic sketches, digital arts to photography, applicants are free to interpret the theme as they wish. Artworks will be judged on artistic merit, creativity, and how well the theme is communicated through the artwork.

Please submit your finished piece to us via email with the subject line “Inclusion” branch by Friday, October 2. If you are unable to send it digitally, please email teenservices@bpl.bc.ca

Be sure to sign the waiver form, so we can share your artwork!

If you have any questions, email the teenservices@bpl.bc.ca or call/text 604-314-2480.
