WEEKLY CHALLENGE #4 (July 6):
Teaching challenge: What’s something you’re good at? Start teaching it to someone else and tell us what’s the most important thing about being a teacher! Send answer to email@example.com by Sunday, July 12, for a chance to have it featured on our social media accounts!
Suggested challenge for caregivers with younger kids at home: Sing a new song to your child. Visit our Embracing Diversity page to learn new songs and rhymes in 15 languages!
LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO READ?
Check out our Summer Reading Club book picks! All picks were inspired by this year's theme "Explore Our Universe" and include eBooks and print books you can borrow from the library! Read more about our services during the pandemic, which includes holds pick-up.
How will the Summer Reading Club be different from previous years? This year, you won't need to pick up or hand in anything to the library to get your medal. You can track your reading online after you sign up, or print out your own reading record at home. Every child who reads this summer can get a medal.
How and when can I get my medal? We aren't sure yet! We will post an update on this page in late August.
What if my child isn't reading yet? Reading and singing to your child will also win them a medal!

The Summer Reading Club is sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association and Burnaby Public Library with support from Libraries and Literacy, Ministry of Education. Burnaby Public Library also gratefully acknowledges CUPE BC, whose financial assistance provides the medals. Thank you to this year's Summer Reading Club artist, Bambi Edlund!
