Pop up in the parkBurnaby Public LIbrary will be visiting a LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) school located at Windsor Community School (6166 Imperial Street, just off Imperial and Waltham).

We'll be sharing a wealth of English language learning materials - books, CDs, and more.

If you don't have a card, we can easily set you up with a free one - please bring government issued ID and a letter with your name and address on it.

Parenting in the Middle Years (6 - 12 years)

This is a supportive and educational series for parents of children ages 6 to 12 years. Understanding middle childhood development, encouraging social-emotional competency, responding to school and family life challenges, fostering positive peer relationships, communicating effectively, understanding temperament, and strategies for effective, positive discipline in the middle years will be covered. Parenting styles and coping with the stresses and strains of parenting will also be included.  The goal of this series is to provide parents with a forum to learn, to share and to discuss information and strategies to enrich their parenting experience.

Join us for a 2-day workshop to prepare for Canadian citizenship! The session will be facilitated by MOSAIC staff. We will talk about topics such as Canada’s history, symbols, government and geography, as well as the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. This workshop will be held in English, with Chinese support available.
