As of Wednesday, June 30, AskAway, BC's free online information service is closed permanently due to provincial funding cuts. Read the press release [PDF].
AskAway was a free, chat-based reference service offered by the libraries of British Columbia and the Yukon offering immediate, interactive, and knowledgeable help on-line.
Staff used online chat to provide research guidance and help with navigating the Internet, library catalogues, and the proprietary online resources.
