We have small collections of children's books in world languages including Chinese, French, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Punjabi and Spanish. If we don't have books in your language, ask where you can find a library that does.

Books on CD

Audio books are a great way to hear and read a story at the same time.  Search the catalogue for children's books on CD from hear a story.

DVDs

A great selection of fun, popular and educational films.  Browse the catalogue for children's feature films and story DVDs or informational DVDs.

Music CDs

Lullabies, nursery rhymes and well-known children's songs.  Explore our World Music and Games page to find songs in world languages.

Magazines

For preschoolers and older children. The newest copies are for library use only. Older copies can be borrowed.

How do I borrow these materials?

With a FREE library card!  Once you have a library card library materials can be borrowed free-of-charge for one to four weeks.  Learn more...

How do I get a library card?

Apply at any branch of Burnaby Public Library.  Adults will need identification for themselves, including something showing current address.

Can I get a card for my child?

Yes! No child is too young to have a card. Even babies can have cards!

Can I use the library if I don't have a library card?

Yes! Many families come to the library to read, study, meet friends and attend storytime.
