lego club Calling all builders! Kids ages 5-12 are invited to drop in anytime between 1:00 and 3:00 to play with the library's extensive LEGO     collection. Moms and dads can join the fun too! Caregivers are required to accompany children under 10. Drop-in. No registration required.

moanaFrom Walt Disney Animation Studios comes "Moana," a sweeping adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors' unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui, and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.

Best suited for Ages 5 and up

Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the room

Space is limited to 60 people, and will be on a first come, first served basis. 

Program room door will open at 1:00, movie will start at 1:15.

Running time 1 hour, 53 minutes

Due to the room capacity (60) and the popularity of this program,  larger groups (daycares, daycamps, etc) might not be allowed in.  Please talk to the children’s librarian if you have any questions or to book a special field trip/visit for your group.

WHAT IS MENTORING WITH MATH?
• Mentoring with Math is an after-school program for boys and girls in grades 3-7
who are struggling with math.
• Children are matched with mentors who help make math fun and achievable.
• Mentors are mostly SFU students and have been recruited by Big Brothers.
• Each session is 1.5 hours - the first hour is focused on math, while the last portion is
spent building a friendship between the child and mentor through play.
• Snacks and tasty treats are provided

WHEN: 4:00 to 5:30pm Thursdays, February 2nd to April 6th (No Program March 16 for Spring Break)
WHERE: McGill Library, Burnaby
COST: This is a FREE program for children who need math support but do not have
access to paid tutoring.

Join a Deaf storyteller and a children's librarian for stories, rhymes, songs and crafts presented in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English. For children of all ages and abilities together with a parent or caregiver. Free – no registration required. ASL interpreters provided.

Pop up library at WesburnBurnaby Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services and Burnaby Public Library have partnered to bring free, drop-in family fun to Wesburn Community Centre (4871 Parkwood Avenue). Drop-in anytime between 10am and 12pm for an Imagination Playground and a Pop-Up Library!

What is an Imagination Playground?
An Imagination Playground is made up of large, modular blocks that kids can stack and move around, providing an endless variety of play patterns. Let your child's creativity shape the play. Have fun and practice co-ordination and balance while enjoying the ride-on cars, slides, and more!

What is a Pop-Up Library?
A Pop-Up Library is a small satellite library that Burnaby Public Library brings into the community. You can browse, borrow, and return library material, just like in a regular library! There will be books for all ages and you'll be able to learn about library services and register for a library card.
