Join us at the Medal Award Ceremony and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, September 6th in Civic Square outside Bob Prittie Metrotown Library!

Breakfast is from 8:30-11:00, tickets are available in advance at any branch or at the door, proceeds to the library's children's collections. 

Free entertainment and activities from 9:00am - 10:45am; medal ceremony begins at 11:00am.

First Saturday of the Month, September 6 to December 6

LEGO at the Library

Calling all builders! Kids ages 4-12 are invited to drop in on the first Saturday of each month to play with the library's extensive LEGO collection. Moms and dads can join the fun too! Caregivers are required to accompany children 10 and under. Drop-in. No registration required.

Lap bounces, songs, rhymes and fingerplays, for babies and the adults who love them! The first 15 minutes is set aside for families to settle in, look at books together, and meet other families. No registration is required. Come early -- space is limited. Caregivers must attend with children. Siblings welcome.

Wednesdays, September 10 through November 19
3:30 pm to 5:00 pm

Children ages 6-12 are welcome to join us for informal chess games, facilitated by Curtis Lister of the Burnaby Junior Chess Club. This is a drop-in program and no registration is required, but space is limited. Parents of children under 9 years old are asked to remain in the Program Room.

Age: Walkers to 2 ½ years

Songs, rhymes and stories for toddlers and the adults who love them! The first 15 minutes is set aside for families to settle in, look at books together, and meet other families. No registration is required. Come early -- space is limited. Caregivers must attend with children. Siblings welcome.

Come and enjoy a couple of hours of knitting, crochet, stitch and chat with likeminded people. We are an informal, friendly group. Everyone is welcome - all ages and all skill levels. Bring your yarn and needles, scissors, and supplies and get started! A limited number of needles and yarn is available for those who want to give knitting/crocheting a try. Tea will be provided. Feel free to bring cookies to share (optional). Knit2gether is a free event. Registration is not required.
