Clapping, rhyming and singing - perfect for active toddlers.

Storytimes are 45 minutes long with the first 15 minutes set aside for reading together with your toddler (books provided!), listening to music, meeting other families and socializing.

No registration required. Come early - space is limited. Caregivers must attend with children. Siblings welcome.

Saturday, June 1
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Look for Burnaby Public Library staff and friends, in costume as children's book characters, in the Hats Off Day Parade. The parade starts at 9 am on Hastings Street at Beta (a block east of McGill library) and ends at Boundary Road by 11 am. From 11 am to 4 pm, Hastings Street becomes a street festival of activities and food. Kids! Visit our Burnaby Public Library booth, on Hastings at Willingdon (in front of Safeway), for free Summer Reading Club temporary tattoos, colouring sheets, and to enter your name in a draw for terrific prizes. Hats Off to Reading!

Saturday, June 15
1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Come build Lego!Calling all builders!  Kids ages 5-12 are invited to drop in anytime between 1:30 and 4:30 to play with the library’s extensive LEGO collection.  Moms and dads can join the fun too.  Caregivers are required to accompany children 10 and under.

Monday, June 24
7:00 pm - 7:45 pm

Age: 4 to 8

Get your campfire voices ready for the summer, practice your favourite camp songs and learn some new ones.  If you have special requests, let Kathryn or Carol know ahead of time and we'll try to work them in. 

Weather permitting, this event will take place outside in front of the library.  If necessary, we will take our voices inside in the program room.

No registration required.  Caregivers must attend with children.  Siblings welcome.

Let us welcome you and your new family to the wonderful world of books, rhymes and songs.

Age: 4-8

After a long day of playing outside, join Carol for a fun-filled 40 minutes of songs and stories.

No registration required. Come early - space is limited. Caregivers must attend with children. Siblings welcome.

Please note, the library will be closed on Monday, August 5th for B.C. Day.
